If I had read this book before the Fifty Shades trilogy, I would have been closer to agreeing with all the insults hurled at James' writing. The trilogy could have used more editing, but this book suffers from greater neglect.

As for the substance, I approached the book with mixed feelings. Christian's childhood memories, whether presented in dreams or as end-of-book extras, were among my favorite passages in the trilogy. On the other hand, the longest look we had before now at adult Christian's ...more

Firstly “Grey” is by no means a brand new book by E L James! So if you’re looking for a brand new book in the 50 Shades series you have come to the wrong place, as there is not one. “Grey” however does give us some insight into Christian’s feelings. Yes the majority of the book is the same of “Fifty Shades of Grey” but with the flip that we are hearing Christian’s thoughts on everything and not Ana’s.

This is a retelling of the first book of the Fifty Shades of Grey Series told from Christian’s point of view. If you are a fan of the series, as I admittedly am, I suppose this one is also a must read. It's not bad. I did enjoy reading it. I gave it only 3 stars because I felt it was a little unnecessary outside of it the money making gimmick that goes along with this trend of rewriting the same book from an alternative point of view. I don't know why people are so negative with E.L James if u don't like then don't bloody read!!!
I loved the book I always find it interesting reading the others POV to really understand how they think and what goes through there head. I think E.L James did a great job on how it was written the only disappointing part is that I don't think she will be writing the next 2 in his POV I would really love to know what he was thinking when leila puts a gun to Ana and when Ana is pregnate ...more

Absolutely amazing.

Loved reading from Christian's point of view and seeing some of the holes be filled in and finding out a bit more about what he went thur as a child. I can always hope for more. Love fifty and have read it many times but this was so much better. ...more

Loved this series. Was so happy to find out that there was a new book coming out from Christian's POV. This was awesome! It was great to see what he was actually feeling and more of what happened when he was a child and during the time she was gone. I just wished that the next book was out so that I could go right into listening it. I hope that we do not have to wait too long for the next book as the plot is already known. ...more
