You have no idea how close this book came to getting a five star review from me. Something I haven’t done in about 3 years. I even had the review written out and ready to go because I thought I hit the jack pot from about 60%, but sadly, the way the hero talked started grating on my last nerves, and the love scenes were not really my cuppa. But I’ll talk about the good things first. Oh how this story bought back the dating days when you first met a guy. He’s wild for you and your wild for him an You have no idea how close this book came to getting a five star review from me. Something I haven’t done in about 3 years. But I’ll talk about the good things first. Oh how this story bought back the dating days when you first met a guy. He’s wild for you and your wild for him and both of you are a little crazy with it. All the crazy emotions and excitement you would feel and the stupid things you did with each other that made you tumble head on in love. It was extremely realistic in the telling and showing of the courtship between the hero and heroine.

I loved the hero. He was hot and domineering but also protective in a gruff way. The way he protected the heroine and cared for her, was such a turn on. He was a true knight. The heroine was also unique. I could relate to her. She was portrayed just like you, or a friend you would know. I loved that she actually accepted the hero’s gifts even though she did try to put up a fight for a while. I was shocked because nothing pees me off more in a romance than when the hero tries to give the heroine gifts or do something nice for her and she refuses on principle! Who does that? I sure as heck wouldn’t, lol. Why must they all have the same personalities and be miss goody too shoes and never accept the nice gestures. I’m happy that our hero brow beat her into taking them. I found that so refreshing. The book also had one of the best first kiss scenes I ever read! I’m happy to say that this book is not even expensive. With overpriced books for $10 or more these days, $3.49 was sweet to behold!

Now for the not so great. There are a few things that might have some readers cringing. Which is what bought this book down to a 4 star rating. EVERY OTHER WORD THAT CAME OUT OF THE HERO’S MOUTH WAS THE F BOMB!! ON LIKE EVERY PAGE! And sadly to say some of them are with the Lords name in vain for those of us that takes offence ( but I can’t really complain since I still chose to read it), but still. I wish KA would have cleaned it up a little. It made it so hard to read with the cursing in every other sentence. It came off like the hero couldn’t hold a conversation. Real sentences would have made his statements more sensible. Sometimes I didn’t even understand why he was cursing like that. It didn’t make any sense. He would just go off on an F rant like F---F---F--- and nothing else. Or F--- me F--- me, and nothing else. LOl, It was so stupid and distracting. I never thought curses could take away from a story but in this one it did. The only other problems I had was that I thought the love scenes could have been a little better.

I also wish that the ending was a more traditional ending. Him staying in that lifestyle did not ring happily ever after to me. You don't survive for long living that way. You are either gonna die or end up in jail,and why bring a child into that kind of life? There was no need for it either since he was already filthy rich. If not for Anya, he should have loved his baby enough to give all that up for her. I was kind of shocked that KA left it at that. I can't picture a forever HEA for them.

I don’t want to leave off with a negative view of this book though because everything else about it was amazing and I wasn’t bored for a second reading it. knight stayed on my mind for days after I read it, and It's on my books to re-read list - even though I didn't give it 5 stars. It surpasses Fifty Shades of Grey by a land slide. I will definitely read more of KA's books because she knows how to write a sexy bad boy.

***Erotica with Definite Explicit Language and Sexual Overatures***
Okay, so I just finished reading this a few minutes ago, and I had to write this review so I don’t lose what I have to say. With that being said, I normally love Kristen Ashley books, but I just felt kind of disappointed with this one. I wanted to read this novel so badly, and when reading the first few chapters, I thought this was going to be tender and sweet with a magnificent male-domineering badass in the forefront. Okay, so I just finished reading this a few minutes ago, and I had to write this review so I don’t lose what I have to say. With that being said, I normally love Kristen Ashley books, but I just felt kind of disappointed with this one. I wanted to read this novel so badly, and when reading the first few chapters, I thought this was going to be tender and sweet with a magnificent male-domineering badass in the forefront. But, what I got out of it was a lot of possessiveness and one-sided bossiness from the male lead character. I just didn’t get his whole idea of not letting the female lead have anything to say about absolutely anything...and I mean anything! She also didn't seem to stand up to him when she felt strongly about something, just eventually agreeing that he knew best...she just was a little timid and weak to me. And the weird vocabulary, like her having to refer to him as “Daddy” was kind of strange.

Anya Gage meets darkly gorgeous but intimidating Knight Sebring at a party in his apartment hosted by his brother Nick, who projects a nasty and a manipulative side. Knight, disgusted with his brother’s actions, especially when he sees how he’s treating Anya and her friend, Sandrine, throws him out of the apartment that they were sharing, which, in hindsight, belongs to Knight. After abandoning Nick, Knight focuses all his attention on Anya, while running his nightclub, Slade. Now this is where it gets a little hard to believe. He showers Anya with all sorts of gifts, but will not let her make her own decisions...from gifts of phones, to clothes, to getting some improvements made to the apartment building where she lives. He also complained about her multiple jobs while attending school, and, last but not least, told her how to dress. Now who does that? I get that this is fiction, but it just does not seem even remotely believeable. And I know that this is a shorter novel than Ms. Ashley normally writes, but where is the romance, the sweetness, the powerful chemistry between the two. Sex is not just chemistry...it’s all the little stuff besides, and just giving extravagant gifts does not cut it.

**Possible Spoiler** I really thought that this novel had a lot of potential especially when he sent her three beautiful dresses, along with matching shoes and clutches, and Anya called him and left a voicemail saying,“Honey you haven’t even kissed me yet.”...and he responds to this by leaving work and just randomly arriving at her apartment in the middle of the night and kissing her breathlessly, and saying, “Now I’ve kissed you babe, feel better?” he asked, his voice rough and so...f***ing...beautiful.” (pg. 133). Now that had definite “swoon” written all over it!

Towards the end of the novel, however, there is a bit more emotion, when Anya accepts Knight for who he is, and she professes her feelings to him, and in his own strange way, he declares how he feels about her, even when facing the final cherished gift that he gives Anya, which is included in the epilogue. I hate saying how I was disappointed with this novel because, like I said, I have read a number of Ms. Ashley’s novels, and I have loved them all. I’m still looking forward to giving the Unfinished Hero series another chance when the next novel is released possibly August, 2012.

So I love me some Kristen Ashley books and this one was no different! A bit different from the books of hers I've read but really good. Hot alpha man, some drama, a little mystery and a lot of sexy time. Overall this was a really good story for me; I enjoyed it a lot. One thing I found really creepy though is that Anya called Knight "Daddy" during the sexy time. That just always really really makes me cringe. ...more

Just finished this book last night. I did a re- read with my girls on this book. What can you say about knight other than Hun....neeee! That man is crazy, scary, sexy hot!! I mean lose your panties, cat in heat sexy hot! I must if read this book the first time when I was scared to write reviews hahah. But now I have found that if I just write the review ASAP then the thoughts are fresh and my anxiety level stays down. Anywho I digress. I'm a fan of Knight. I liked his caveman speak ;) The steamy times were sexy and... caveman-like? lol The Daddy thing didn't bother me so much, kind weird but I could overlook it. What I didn't like was the third person references... Baby wants her Daddy... That was more irritating to me. But again with the epilogue! KA doesn't disappoint on the epilogues! ...more
