Is it too much to ask that there is a book released with very few grammar errors?

The book was great. I loved the intensity of Jesse Ward and but Ava's character frustrated me at times with her dumb-ass-ary mindsets.

In some parts, the grammar errors were so pronounced, it truly distracted me from being completely engulfed in this story. And, just as my luck would have it, the worse of the grammar errors would present themselves in portions of the storyline that has me sticking to every word on ...more

Shelves: crazy-love

Drama, drama and more drama!!! That's what this book seems to be all about. The only problem is that the two main characters are so far gone off the reservation of sanity that they aren't realizing that all of the drama could easily have been avoided by taking the time to sit down and actually talk to each other like normal couples do. Get to know each other. Go out on a genuine date. Have dinner and talk to each other. They don't even do much in the way of "pillow talk".

I wish goodreads allowe Drama, drama and more drama!!! That's what this book seems to be all about. I wish goodreads allowed readers to rate books under different categories. From a literary standpoint, I would only give this book 2 stars because I noticed a few editing errors. However, the story is so addictive that I kept reading anyway. It's like a crash on the highway...you can't help but look even though you don't really want to. I am willing to admit that I liked spending a few days lost in Jesse and Ava's drama fueled soap opera. It's sort of like watching The Young and The Restless and I wonder if I would still be reading as many of these types of books if so many daytime soaps hadn't gone of the air.

I can't say that I found the two main characters particularly likable. I thought Ava was a total nitwit that is quite capable of driving any sane man to drink. It was just plain bad luck for Jesse that a crazy (view spoiler) control freak like himself has the misfortune of falling in love with her. Out of all of the people on the planet, these two dysfunctional co-dependent nitwits manage to find each other. Jesse most certainly has issues. I was almost certain that one of the big revelations of his "mysterious past" was that he was manic depressive. That didn't turn out to be the case, though. The book really doesn't give a specific explanation for his particular brand of crazy other than the fact that he's a (view spoiler) and that the manor that he owns is actually a (view spoiler). (These were two revelations that the readers see coming from a mile away imo and I found it to be a little far fetched that Ava couldn't see it.)

Speaking of Ava, she drove the poor man insane with her nonsense (....and like I said, he really didn't have that far to go in that regard.) This is one of those books where the female main character spends a lot of time dodging phone calls and running away from the issues at hand rather than dealing with them. Being a strong woman doesn't mean picking fights or being stubborn and defiant just to prove a point or to even a score. Ignoring someone's calls doesn't necessarily mean that you are strong or independent and have your own life. Sometimes, it really means that you are just too cowardly to face an issue directly. Even though I joked earlier about her annoying ability to drive someone to drink, his (view spoiler) is not truly her fault like Jesse seems to imply that it is. However, I did think that (view spoiler) just because she is hurt about "the big revelation" was a completely selfish and shitty thing to do. He could have died. She could have at least called his friends and told them that he (view spoiler).

I could ramble on and on about what I liked and didn't like about this book. In a nutshell, I was nice little diversion. It's not worthy of the 4 and 5 star reviews that it is getting but it wasn't completely bad either. ...more

When I read the blurb for this book my first thought was "Hell, another one of those 50 Shades books!"However, some friends insisted that it was different so with a whole lot of hesitancy I hunkered down and started to read.

Thank goodness I had a free weekend to indulge in Mr. Ward!

This Man is the first book of This Man trilogy by Jodi Ellen Malpas. I really want to like this more than I did. The story is very long with too many repetition, I almost put it down. Has to be one of the worst books Ive read in a long time. I read through half of the second book.. Waited for the Plot and climax.. but it never came. Weak main character and a controlling man. defiantly not a fairytale to me. Im sad I wasted so much time on it. Every chapter seemed to be the same as the one before it
