A cute retelling of Pinocchio in a world full of campy robots. It was a lot more YA than I had expected, and was alittle annoying at times, but ultimately a really sweet story.

I liked this better than House in the Cerulean Sea. SciFi Pinocchio mixed with Wizard of Oz. Not super satisfied with the ending, but I can’t quite put my finger on why. The Nurse Ratched/Rambo dynamic was my favorite part. I really enjoy Klune’s banter dialog.

I think I've given every other Klune book I've read a 5 star but this one just fell a little flat for me, I'm not sure why. I still loved it, but I just didn't itch to pick it up as I have the other ones. Vic was interesting and HAP was outstanding. I liked GIO too. Rambo had to be my favorite though. Nurse Ratchet was hysterical. This was a retelling of Pinocchio sort of. But with humans and AI. It was a little scary, because I could see this really happening in our future, and not so far off,
