For some reason, Goodreads didn't log my 2015 review as a completion so I had to go digging in Reading Progress to fix dates because I didn't finish my first read a decade later :p
anyways. On this reread I noticed more references to era 1 as I'd previously noted but now they're fresher, ha. There was a lot about this book I enjoyed, with the magic and incredibly animated descriptions and creative usages of the three MC's magic. As before, I loved Wayne and his humor, though it felt a little less to me than in the first book. The hyper-focus on religion here didn't work for me as much and as a result the 'bad guy' and the religious aspect had me a little bored. The ending saved it for me. It was typical Sanderson -- fast paced, twisty, with some great set up for the fut ...more
