What Members Thought

For such a hyped-up book, this one was tough to push through in the beginning. Even 100 pages in, I wasn’t sure I wanted to keep going. There are three storylines. Each is told in the present tense, and that’s a little different than what most of us are used to. One of the storylines is told in 2nd person voice. That’s a lot different than any of us are used to in a fantasy novel. Nobody does this. It’s odd, it’s jarring.

Quite liked this book. The story was interesting and kept me interested throughout. The continuity throughout was fun to follow. The writing style itself is the most interesting thing. It was somewhat weird jumping between third and second person, but it was somewhat endearing. It was linguistically exciting to read, which makes it all that much more interesting.
