The first thing that grabbed me about this book was the writing style. It's so unique and poetic and the stream of consciousness first person point of view is so...beautiful to read. Mafi has a real talent for metaphors and just creating the perfect descriptions in such a different way. I didn't mind the words being striked out, I thought it was used sparingly and that was nice. It's a book that really makes you FEEL everything Juliette is feelings, especially in the beginning. Juliette's growth ...more

I was very hesitant to pick up this book because I wasn't sure I was going to like the writing style. I was so wrong I loved it!

Juliette's story is a pretty unique one and so is her point of view. I felt for her, indentified with her dilemma and was able to understand her actions. I've rarely been this fond of a character. The world is developed very richly and the plot twists kept me turning the pages at lightning speed!

BRAVO! MAGNIFICO! I WANT MORE!!!

I had many doubts about this book and I even thought that since it is a dystopian theme, it might give me another trying hard version of Hunger Games. But I was surprised with how unique and well structured Shatter Me was. Every page has angst that kept me going until I realized that the sun was up and I was reading from dusk to dawn. Heck! Talk about a page turner.

It was a sheet-gripping, can't put it down kind of novel. I just can't wait to know what happened next, and eventually I finished it in one day.
If there will be a time in my life where I would think of a reason to go back and reread this series it will be simply because of Aaron Warner! I just can't help but root for him and Juliette Ferrars.
Tahereh Mafi did an awesome job on creating this beautiful dystopia, with all these wonderful characters that easily and reasonably interact in such a way t
