After immersing myself in stories rich with fantastical settings, entering the post-apocalyptic world of Angelfall took some getting used to, and felt sparse in comparison to the kind of world- building I'd grown used to getting lost in. I guess I should have expected this from a story taking place in the wake of a devastating attack on the human race by angels.

I don't really like angel novels, but I've seen a lot of good reviews about this book so decided to give it a try. I was surprised by how quickly I got into the story. There were a couple of times the story wasn't as gripping as it could have been, but overall it was really good and the ending left me wanting to read the sequel.

I’ve read this series many times over the years and it still remains my favorite. This is the first thing I recommend to anyone that has an interest in reading. I love Penryn and her attitude. Also the story itself is so intriguing.

Definitely give it a chance!
