This was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which I didn't know before I started it though it was pretty obvious early on in the story. I love fairy-tale retellings, especially when they have new and unique twists to them - which this one did.

I loved all the characters! Feyre was brave and strong, yet so sweet with the way she cared for her family (even when they didn't seem to appreciate it). Tamlin sounded fierce, he definitely wasn't someone you'd want to cross. I also really liked Lucien, ...more

Nevertheless - I kept reading, just to understand why a faerie looked like a wolf? Why were they considered dangerous? And some plots just seemed too ridiculous. Like why would the faerie have a treaty that said a life for a life and take a human into their court? Why was Feyre being treat ...more

Ok so a read the book a for a second time, which I do not ever do. I don’t re-read books but I bought it for my daughter and remembered I enjoyed it well let’s just say I added a star to my rating. I enjoyed it the second time around and bought the rest of the series because I now want to continue it..
