A great book ! It was about Jacob who goes to a island that his grandfather would tell him about. This island was suppose to house Miss Peregrine's Home that had amazing children with special talents. Love the photos in the book really lent to the spooky feel of the book. I love all the relationships in book. especially
Jacob and his grandfather. I really look forward to reading the second one.

Pros: Secondary Characters were mildly interesting, I love the use of Photography in the book that showcases the images that we're being told about in the book and the overall premise was very original and creative.

I couldn't finish this, it was a very disappointing book. It felt more like an A-level creative writing project based on a bunch of old photos - which it kind of was, but the execution was awful. I can't tell you how pissed off I got to read a description like:

'... then there was Terry the Nut-boy who was made entirely out of nuts. And he could hover - weeeeeee'

just to turn over the page to see the B&W photo of a hovering Terry.

It shouldn't annoy me really, but it did. ...more
