What Members Thought

I am always excited to put my mind to work with a good ol' Agatha Christie novel, and I have decided to start Poirot's series from the top, although I have read a lot of books from the series.
The Mysterious Affair at Styles starts off a bit slow, and I have seen quite a resemblance with Sherlock Holmes, how it started by Hastings describing himself to have been in war and I have seen some similarities between him and John Watson.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles was Agatha Christie's first book that introduced the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. First published in 1920, this book was an instant hit and garnered Christie much fame and acclaim.
Hercule Poirot has just arrived in England as a refugee when he meets Captain Hastings whom he met once in Belgium while on a case. Poirot had been in the Belgian police force then.
