I just read the book the Elite bye Kiera Cass. It is the second book in the Selection series. America Singer was one of 36 entered into the selection to win prince Maxon's heart and become the next princess of Illea. Now its down to 6. They call them the elite. America still doesn't know what she wants. Shes aware of her feelings for Maxon but also for her feelings for Aspen. The competition is getting harder and Maxon is making it clear that he needs America to make up her mind. Many obstacles and mixed feelings come in America's way of deciding and staying in the competition. Does America Singer have what it takes to be the next princess of Illea? Can she make it to the end with out being eliminated by other authorities?
America has become stronger over the last two books. She is still her stubborn self but has become more aware of things and has started standing up for herself and her country more. Even though the book follows a very clique prince meets poor maiden and they fall in love plot it has a twist to it. Being in a new country that's trying to strive to exist with its castes gives the book its own special persona. Its fun to read because you can root for the characters in the selection and for the two relationships going between America and Maxon, and America and Aspen. I would recommend this book to romance readers who also like futuristic hunger game type societies. The plot flows well, theres never a time when it gets scrambled and you can't understand whats going on or it gets too slow. Enjoy!!
