The handsome young fellow who’s trying to rescue you from a hideous fate is never wrong. Not even if he says the sky is purple and made of hedgehogs .”

Tessa Gray, as a young American woman, has never thought to question the world she lives in – until she’s captured whilst travelling to England and held captive by dark forces, hoping to use her for even darker purposes that she hasn’t the slightest idea about. Rescued from that fate by people who call themselves ‘Shadowhunters’, Tessa comes out

Love Jem. Hate Will. So, obviously, I ship Tessa with Jem.

I love TMI so I didn't hesitate to read this. And Cassie didn't disappoint at all. Great characters, great plot, great everything!

I can't wait for Clockwork Prince!

****reread 10/2020****

I had forgotten a lot of what had happened in this series so I'm excited to get to read it again. It was very exciting, not as thrilling as I felt the first read through was, but I really enjoyed it all of the same and I'm looking forward to continuing to read the series and even the Mortal Instruments again.

I have yet to read the Mortal Instruments series (at the time I had bought this book, I didn

To think that the Mortal Instruments was an amazing series...but no, The Infernal Devices can maybe, or perhaps, be even better (as if that was possible).

Firstly, to get over my fangirl moment - Ahhhhh Will, Will, Will...JEM <3 - I think that's enough to show how much I loved reading about those two handsome fictional boys. Second, I really can't believe how addictive this book got, reading the first few pages and immediately I got hooked into knowing what will happen to Tessa, what she thin

I really liked this book considering I kept comparing it to The Mortal Instruments. I didn't like it as well as I liked Mortal Instruments series but over all I enjoyed the book. I really liked all the characters as well as the plot. I definitely did not see the plot going where it did when I originally started reading the series because it was sat in the 1800s. I was happily surprised by that. At first Tessa did get on my nerves but after she met Will she grew on me. I'm completely undecided wh ...more

A first time reader of anything Cassandra Clare (although i have heard of the name because of certain...issues that i'd rather this review stay out of), i was expecting to be blown away. After all, i have heard many good things about her works. But still, i was quite unsure that i will like it as much as other people do.

The story circles around Tessa Gray, a shape-changing "kinda-warlock-but-not-quite" girl who sets to London to meet his brother but instead finds herself in between the Nephilim

Merged review:

Second time reading:
Clockwork Angel may not have tons of action like the Mortal Instruments , but what I really love about the story are the characters.I love the love story and how the each of the characters develops throughout the trilogy. I can see now after read Clockwork Angel again why people love Jem so much. He was simply the perfect gentlemen. What I love about Will though is that he seems the most "human". He is angry, funny, and in love while Jem is what we girls want

I didn't really get into this story until around the 200 page mark. I kept comparing it to The City of Bones, which grabbed me from the start. Saying that, It's worth a read. I found myself intrigued especially by Will and his dark inner turmoil. An interesting look at a time before Jace and Clary . ...more
