Sarah J Maas is a master at her art!! I started this book and I didn't know what to expect but from the first day I couldn't sleep. I HAD to read more and I had to know what happened.

This book is a retaling of Beauty and the Beast, plus Fairies. It was so uniquely handled that it didnt become a bore. Thrilling, enchanting, funny and sexy as hell. This trilogy got me hooked!!!

Can't wait to read book number 2, which has a Hades and Persephone vibe to it. *.* ♥ ...more

I’ve always marveled at how well-structured and elaborate Sarah’s fictional worlds are. The details about them are well thought out and there are maps in books for our better understanding of them. This book is an unusual retelling of Beauty and the Beast, intricate and including faeries. It really differs from Throne of Glass and the difference is not only in plot or setting but also in the general atmosphere. I really really enjoyed this book. I'm not sure what it is but there's just something that's keeping me from rating it a full 5 star book, but a lot of what goes into me giving a book a perfect rating is based off personal feelings, of how that book connected to me and how it made me feel. So although I really loved it and I thought the plot and characters were fascinating and intriguing there was just something about it that didn't connect with me 100%.
