I'm not going to lie; I actually had really high expectations for Heir of Fire and Heir of Fire met them, but in a different way. It was my least favourite book in comparison to the first two book of the series, but Heir of Fire is so different, it is practically impossible to compare to the other novels. There are so many elements in the novel that the first two books don't focus on, primarily the sacrifice and weaknesses.

I am so glad that my irritation and hesitancy with Chaol in the last book was intentionally done. By the end of Crown of Midnight, I was like hmm… the romancey aspects are not doing it for me, not sure the author is selling me on that, but the plot is really good. Well, the plot gets even better in this book, and finally, there is a male interest that I feel can actually build something with Celaena.
