Heir had seven POVs! Our three heroes, and two new main narrators; Manon, an iron witch who I liked, and a healer whom I didn't. (She was so meek and blushy!) Later Aedion got several chapters. (Celaena's cousin) Then Rowan gets a couple too.

The Bad:

Celaena was depressing at the beginning. Crown ended optimistically so it surprised me. Her PTSD was handled well, (The way she didn't feel anything.) But just because she's hurting is no excuse for her to be so mean! And to people who didn't deserve ...more

OMGSH my feelings!! They're all over the place right now, literally I don't think I have ever been so heartbroken by the end of a book! I want to start Queen of Shadows but I don't think that my heart could handle that right now!! It's incredible how much I love this series and how much I adore Celaena!!!

The third book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas is another fantastic installment in this amazing, heart-shattering, fascinating series.

For me, Heir of Fire was very hard to get in to. Celaena was in a pit of self-loathing, depression, and had given up after everything she went through in Crown of Midnight.

Plot:
Celaena Sardothien, or more appropriately, Aelin Ashrywer Galathynius, was the lost princess of Terranes. Broken by the death of Nehemia, the betrayal of Chaol, Celaena is paired with Rowan, an elite warrior of Maeve. Instead of building the princess up, helping her learn to control her fire, Rowan seems to be there only to tear her down. Struggling to deal with her guilt, Rowan’s disapproval grazes, and the fact that she is indeed a coward who wants to run away, Celanea faces her toughest Plot:

With Dorian not speaking to him, knowing Celaena is Aelin, and that Aelin’s cousin, Aedien is back in town, Chaol is far from ready to leave the city. Finding out Aedien is not the killer of Terranes that the King believes him to be, Aedien is overjoyed to believe that Aelin is still alive and is ready to get her back on her throne; or at least for him to see her, one last time. Chaol and Aedien team up to protect Celaena/Aelin from the king’s radar. Where Dorian begins getting flirty with nurse Sorscha, his magic is also growing, and is unable to find a way to stop the development. With the King training the witches as his secret army, Celaena and Rowan have no idea what they are missing.
Thoughts:
Sarah Mass letting us know that she is not done with this series in the slightest. With the book taking the point of view from not only Celaena but from Chaol, Manon, Sorscha, and Dorian, this book introduces a whole bunch of new characters. There are three plotlines that Mass brings to the table, which at no point crosses over which is kind of disappointing. You have Celaena and Rowan as one plot, Dorian, Sorscha, and Chaol in the castle as the second plot, and then Manon and her witch gang as the third storyline. Which so much going on it can be chapters till you see Chaol, Celaena, or Manon again. Mass also does not tell you what chapter is taken from what point of view, but with three very separate stories, it is easy to figure out who is talking. As one of the middle books (three of seven), this book is a lot more background building, character introduction, and another scoop into the main plotline of the story. With quick writing, Mass does make this book fly through your hands despite sixty-eight chapters. It is very exciting to see where Mass will bring our characters next, to when Celaena and Chaol meet face to face again, what our two castle boys will think about Rowan, and what will happen to the kingdom if the lost princess brings herself into the light. ...more

holy crap this book took me so long to finish. not because it's bad but because it's so long! it wasn't my favorite in the series but it was still freaking epic! loved Manon and I cannot wait for her and Celaena to meet. ...more
