Since You’ve Been Gone is the second Morgan Matson book that I have read. A couple of years ago I read Second Chance Summer and absolutely treasured it to pieces. Let me tell you, I felt the same way about Since You’ve Been Gone.

This book made me happy. It was really cute and realistic. I was though, a bit disappointed because everybody seemed to love it so much, and I don't. I was expecting something more... I don't know, exciting from this book since it's such a long one (for a contemporary). I felt like the ending was cut short, and a few problems were left unresolved (view spoiler). There is just something about a light, summery contemporary that warms my heart and gives me all the feelings. Since You've Been Gone would have been the ideal beach read (if I actually read books at the beach, that is), but alas, I read it in my bedroom with the curtains closed. Even so, it was sweet and fun; a perfect summer read!
