To be clear, I didn't dislike this reading experience. The writing itself is clean, effective, and not overly complicated, with vivid and consistent imagery. The feel of the book struck this reader as something on the order of A Midsummer Night's Dream meets Pan's Labyrinth (with plenty of alternating Faerie wonderment and horror to be had.) Aside from the quirkiness of Puck—-who, in my opinion, wasn't in enough of the book—-the dialogue was a bit lackluster. And while it sometimes came close to

Wow, I really loved this book!! A couple of picky things might make it more of a 4.5 (if that were a possible rating), but I found it thoroughly exciting, imaginative, and enjoyable. Loved the characters and the different worlds--and their meshing with the "real" world. Grimalkin, Puck, Ash, Meghan--loved them all! The danger, suspense, narrow escapes, and "bargaining" were wonderful, too.

At first when i started this book I thought it was a little weird! But the futher I got into it I loved how crazy and imaginative it is! Usually I wouldn't read a book about faery people but I actually really liked this one and how it incorporated a Midnight Summer's Dream into it! I also really liked how the author portrayed Ash and Meghan's relationship. How he is bound to kill her yet he finds himself loving her is kind of the ultimate doomed relationship. It's really intense! All in all I th

This book was like Alice in Wonderland meets Narnia.
I wasn't so sure about it in the beginning, because of those things.
I thought it would be a rip off.
I thought it was going to be awful.
But guess what?
I thought wrong.
That's alright though.
Because now, I can read the other books and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.
Or not.
Meghan Chase isn't really a strong character in the beginning.
She's quiet, and she doesn't really have any friends.
Robbie, on the other hand, is the complete opposite.

Okay, I have to confess that it was a bit hard to get into this book. I thought it was a bit childish for my taste. I honestly considered giving up. But then I read all the good reviews, so I decided to read on to find out what was so special about this book. And I'm glad I did. The story gets really good once Meghan reaches Nevernever (okay, the name was stupid). I'm sure Julie Kagawa got inspired by Neverending story. I'm not giving 5 stars because the story started too slow for me. I'm sure t
