I had lowish expections when I picked up the book. I didn't realize how great it would be! The MC's arrogance and pride made me dislike her at first. But as the story went on, I felt that it slipped away and went on the backburner. Also I enjoyed the side characters a lot! They added a lot of layers to the story. I FINALLY read this baby and I gotta say it was AH-mazing! Celaena reminds me of Rose Hathaway.! She's a badass assassin and SHES PROUD! I just love her and Dorrien and Chaol and the world! So happy I took on this series! Can't wait to read 6 books of Celaena! ...more

Okay, the book was good, but it was a little but too high fantasy for me. I've never really enjoyed fantasy worlds, but fantasy in our world like Harry potter, I'm fine with. But over all I enjoyed the book, it just took a while to finish

I enjoyed this, but the hype really ruined it for me, I think. I just was expecting something so much more from it. At this time, I don't think I plan to continue the series, especially knowing there are at least 3+ books. I'm writings this review 2 months after reading and I'm so sad to say that I can't even remember how it ended, or much of what happened throughout.
