This book is a fun and interesting read. I was really surprised by the depth and number of Greek myth characters and folklore that Riordan managed to fit into a youth novel. I have to admit, the writing was a bit childish in parts, and distracted me on more than one occasion. However, as a teen book I think it's a wonderful fantasy novel that will draw readers in and maybe even teach them a little about Greek mythology! ...more
