Legend is one of my new favorite now. The story was so catchy and captivating that I didn’t realise when did I finish it. It indeed is very beautifully written. It positively crosses all the limits that were set for a good teen dystopian novel. It is not restricted to the teens, according to me a person of any age group would enjoy reading this book. Legend is one of my new favorite now. The story was so catchy and captivating that I didn’t realise when did I finish it. It indeed is very beautifully written. It positively crosses all the limits that were set for a good teen dystopian novel. It is not restricted to the teens, according to me a person of any age group would enjoy reading this book. This is the first of the Legend series by Marie Lu. The Main characters of the book are June Iparis, Daniel Wing aka Day, Metias Iparis and Thomas.

This book revolves around June and Day who lives in Republic and series of events occur which affects their life to a devastating extent. June is an Republic agent. Her character is strong, observant and she is determined to do what she has to. She’s curious and that’s what gets her into trouble most of the time. Day, meanwhile is a street con. I found him more like modern Robinhood, he doesn’t hurt anyone, steals and helps the other people in streets. Both Day and June are a very strong character. They both are the prodigies doomed to suffer. This is the sort of book which made me think and question everything around me. What we see is only the half truth, who knows what is actually going on behind our backs and what sort of truth are we told.

This book made me suffer with a turmoil of emotions, initially I felt bad for Day then I felt bad for June. Then I started feeling disgusted by Day then I felt bad for him again. And then I felt somehow betrayed by June. But in the end I started admiring both the characters. There was this unpredictability in the story which will give you shocks time to time.

This story is about survival, corruption and all the wrong that’s done to the people of poor sector and how the rich sector is always favoured. How the truth is always bitter and can make you go against the mindset with which you’ve been brought up. How a truth can destroy the whole world and can create a whole different sort of world. I hated the part where for the sake of immunisation and medicines the Republicans used their own people as lab rats. This story might give you the courage to think rather than just follow the orders given.

There are few books which gives you the courage to do the things which you thought you’d never be able to. Few books which change your mindset and encourages you to think beyond your ability. And this is one of those books. I’m glad that I read it, no doubt after so many recommendations by my friends. But I’ll always cherish reading this book. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Lastly I’d request and recommend you all to grab your hands on this book Asap. One of the finest dystopian I’ve read lately. ...more

Beffor I have my little rant about some things don't let it fool you although the book seemed to have problems it overcame them and went over them by miles. I loved it.

Just to start off I would like to say that I am sick of reading books about plague this is the third one recentely and they all seem to have one.

Also the name for this book didn't fill me with hope as Legend seemed just a bit over the top. And literally made me do this

Oh my gosh is all I can say about this book!
The way the author makes you think one thing happened then shows you it happened a different way is mindblowing!
