Shelves: favorite-series, surprised-how-much-i-like-it

This story was so hard to read. It's categorized under Erotica and Romance. Somehow though it's not really either. I did not get that warm fuzzy feeling like you do in a typical romance nor did I fan myself during the sex scenes. This book is dark and disturbing. Did I say dark? Because it's so very dark. This book is a psychological thriller at it's best. It takes you on a journey that will leave you scratching your head and wondering what the hell you just read.

I'm not sure where my head is at with this book right now. I've been all over the place with this one. My emotions have been turned upside down and inside out. It made me feel things that I'm not sure I like. Tony was a kidnapping, manipulating, abusive, controlling asshole but I found myself at times hoping that he would change enough to make his and Clair's relationship work. I don't know where to start with this book. The beginning for me was slow but I plowed thru and so glad that I did.

I hate Tony and what he did to Claire. This man needs to meet a big dark stranger in the alley if you know what I mean. I just wish that hsi servant Catherine would do something to help Claire survive her ordeal. I kept wishing that she would come thru but in the end all she did was be some version of a friend to Claire.

Totally over the top - has you feeling such a wide range of emotions - infuriated, confused, happy, beyond angry, and more. Is this a feel good book....no and absolutely yes. It makes you want something...redemption, a happy ending for someone who may or may not deserve it.
