This was wonderful! Seemed to be where the novel meets non-fiction. There's something in the requirements of successfully gathering intelligence, disseminating false information with an objective in mind (and if successfully winning world war II isn't an objective, I don't know what is). Imagination is required, monitoring that information, translating what you get from how you get it, and making use of it. I wanted to like this book, but just couldn't finish it. There was so much detail that the story just got lost and never became intriguing. Wish it flowed a little faster. Historically this is amazing, and a great piece o research by the author. Reading was just dogged by the boring back story that moved at a snails pace.

For accessible, informative and above all, entertaining narrative history you can't go wrong with Ben Macintrye. Another fascinating WW2 spy tale.
