Old fashioned, a bit out of date and at times laughably (I say this with black humour) offensive you wouldnt think the book Goldfinger had much going for it. Wrong. Whilst Fleming, a product of his time and class, had some rather odd views he knew how to create a well paced and well crafted thriller. He was superb at the following:

This is one of the better books of the series. While the movie was entertaining, it failed to capture the ingenuity of the Goldfinger character. He truly is one of the best bond villains and this book is definitely worth reading.
