The story of the Lavender Garden is one which I was constantly impressed with the story telling. The characters were wonderfully depicted and their actions were realistic for the time periods. This has what another reviewer mentioned as "dueling story lines" which I found was masterfully laid out jumping seamlessly from war-torn Europe to modern day (90's).
