What Members Thought
Thanks to a year of selecting just classics in one of the groups of which I'm a member, I finally got around to reading this long, sweeping saga of a book, and I'm glad we/I did. It's not perfect, and it seemed to take a very long time to finish (691 pages), but the drama, angst, the recurring good-vs-evil theme, the wonderful characters, and all the rest made it worth the effort. Not to mention the pure enjoyment of Steinbeck's writing, which always amazes me. All in all, an excellent novel.
