I'm now a total Elizabeth Essex fan. This is the 2nd book of hers I've devoured - literally unable to put it aside for the two day period I needed to read it. If I didn't have a horde of children to feed and keep out occupied, I imagine I would have finished it that much sooner.
It's not just that Sally is funny and sweet and able. It's not just that Col is dreamy and stoic and manly. It's that, together, they work so well. Whether running a ship (I LOVED the setting), on secret mission ...more

I loved this book. Loved. I was immediately drawn into the story and the characters and the ROMANCE. Oh! It's such a wonderfully romantic book. Ms. Essex has a great voice and writes terrific characters who have such depth. I loved Sally and Col. She was spunky and confident without being overbearing and annoying.
