No my total favorite, but it was an eye-popping book. At times, the characters were very entertaining with their sexual affairs. Main characters Sherman McCoy and Lawrence Kramer often fusses about their economic status and also entangle themselves with some kind of sexy business. From the mistress with a weird accent Sherman can't stand, to the kinky girl with Brown Lipstick, Sherman and Kramer are always in some kind of trouble.

i had no idea wolfe was so funny. highly entertaining. this witty commentary on issues of race, class and gender is powerful. rich with descriptions of the excessive and loud nature of nyc in the 80's -- it took me back, and made me think. i hear the film is horrible but am somewhat curious having enjoyed the novel so much... ...more
