Little did I know that when I first read this book four years ago, Sariah Wilson would become one of my very favorite authors! This was the first book of hers I read and I was hooked.

I'm still coming down from my #Starstruck high and thought it'd be fun to read this one again. Besides, I know this newer edition had some bonus material that I really wanted to read.

For those who know me, I adore Cinderella. It's probably my favorite fairy tale and I always enjoy a good modern retelling. The titl

Matilda (aka Mattie or Tilly) is a tall, awkward, fuschia haired, manga drawing girl with the perfect stepsister--Ella. I guess I'd always thought of Cinderella's stepsisters as being lazy, ugly, with big noses, big feet, and grating, irritating voices. In this modern re-telling, Mattie does not come off across as that way at all. In fact, I think she is just a very insecure girl. Her mother all but abandoned her when she was young and has very limited contact with her and her dad is a busy, dis ...more

Mattie compares her life to a fairy tale. She is the ugly step sister. She has a list of grievances against Ella, her step sister. Ella is smart, thrifty, beautiful, perky, kind...... in short the near perfect person. Ella's boyfriend is the crush that Mattie has had since elementary school.

This book is written from Mattie's perspective. Mattie is such an amazing character. She has elements in her personality that everyone could relate to. She is hiding. Hiding from herself, her peers, her siste

A darling teen read. Loved the characters (except for Mercedes & Scott of course, what jerks, oh, and her mother...sad, sad woman) I loved how Mattie was herself, and didn't let herself get pressured or pushed around.

I have to admit (view spoiler)

Moral Note: Clean language, clean

I read this book in less than a day because I could not put it down! This book was so likeable and absolutely hilarious! I was constantly laughing right out loud!

My first impression was that the main character, Mattie, was going to be a little too goth and tortured...boy was I wrong! She was witty and enjoyable! And Jake...wow! What a nice guy!

This was such a fun story. I totally related to it and I haven't been in high school for over 20 years! And as if all of this wasn't enough, it's a tota

Such a cute book! Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I was reading it on my laptop at 1am and trying to stop laughing so I wouldn't wake up my husband.

I loved Mattie and the shower incident was awesome (and you'll have to read it to figure out what that is...) The romance was so sweet.

A clean read.
