5 "What a way to start a Saga" Stars

A story of intellect, mystery, political savviness and very sensual and sexy undertones!! I must say, I was a little hesitant to read because I had some preconceived notions about the story. Well- with the push of some friends, I read and was completely overwhelmed and absorbed into an amazing and epic storyline.

EXCELLENT! Couldn't put it down!
From start to finish ... absolutely FLAWLESS!

After having read the first three books in this saga:

This series is my favorite discovery of 2015! I can't say enough good things about it. It's exquisitely well written with an intriguing plot, well developed characters and a really engaging and intelligent dialogue.

Please keep in mind that this is a six part saga, with the first three books being the first half of Caroline's journey. You won't get the whole picture i ...more

I gave this 5 stars, and HIGHLY recommend! This series was amazing if I do say. I am still blown away. Cecilia London has wrote, hands down one of the best series of 2015/16! I gave this 5 stars, and HIGHLY recommend! This series was amazing if I do say. I am still blown away. Cecilia London has wrote, hands down one of the best series of 2015/16! It will also continue beyond these 3 books, May 2016 the 4th in this series will be released and I assure you we are all dying to know what will happen. Written in the third person and first person through Caroline's memories and dreams~Cecilia London pulled off one of the hardest aspects of writing and mastered it! Dissident was an advanced readers copy for honest review. The following "Conscience " and "Sojourn" were purchased.

Dissident
Dissident: a person who opposes official policy, especially that of an authoritarian state.

Congresswoman Caroline Gerard is recovering from the loss of her husband, raising two daughters and trampling senators in DC. It is at a New Years party she meets Jack McIntyre whom she tried to muckrake during his campaign. Knowing she was wrong about this, she apologizes and by the prelude of New year's day? The two become friends.

This courtship continues almost a year, as political uprise occurs in the US. Caroline a Democrat and Jack a Republican the two hit it off viscerally. Carolina is a woman who morally, ethically stands by her own code of honesty and demure. Jack is described as more of a ruthless politician who becomes less contentious with Caroline.

At the prologue Caroline and Jack are running for their lives, Caroline surrenders and it is through unconscious memories of her capture we learn all that is Jack and Caroline. Our government is in chaos, the good politicians have disappeared and Caroline suspected that after a president assignation, the vice president deceitfully came upon power.

She is correct and during "Dissident" she is being held captive in a governmental prison where she is treated horrifically. All because she and Jack believed in the conspiracies and began a movement to take down this mendacious president.

There is a lot of quirky comments, I really love Caroline's character. Even through the gruesome tortures, Cecilia does not hold anything back, so if you are a sensitive reader, this is not recommended for you. If you love dark, political, erotica you won't be able to get enough.

This is a difficult review to write, only because there is so much going on in one book. Read the first 2 pages, it will ensnare you.
