Damn. This is gonna be hard to review without spoiling - and, well, I'm not sure how I feel about a few things - actually, I am pretty sure how I feel about it, I didn't like it - at all. I'd read This is War, Baby completely off a friend's recommendation and devoured it. After the mother of a cliffhanger, I was pleasantly surprised, and pleased, that K Webster wasn't going to string us along forever waiting for this dramatic conclusion. Luckily, I only had to wait a couple weeks- and this second book did not disappoint!

CHARGING! CLEAR!! HIT HER AGAIN! That is the sound of K. Webster shocking my heart repeatedly over and over again with her words. We are once again sucked into the evil world that lives inside of K.Webster’s head and you cannot help but be solely focus on this story. The details are many, but not overwhelming. Each character is so thoughtfully designed I felt like I could see them right in front of me acting out the story for me. This book has a break neck speed, but I really can’t see it going CHARGING! CLEAR!! HIT HER AGAIN! That is the sound of K. Webster shocking my heart repeatedly over and over again with her words. We are once again sucked into the evil world that lives inside of K.Webster’s head and you cannot help but be solely focus on this story. The details are many, but not overwhelming. Each character is so thoughtfully designed I felt like I could see them right in front of me acting out the story for me. This book has a break neck speed, but I really can’t see it going any other way.

Everything picks right back up where “This is War, baby” left us… ON THE FLOOR, CLUTCHING OUR KNEES TO OUR CHEST, AND MUMBLING CRAZY THINGS WHILE ROCKING. I am pretty sure my heart seized in my chest multiple times as I started reading again. I have to admit that I am a fast reader, but once I started this book I put EVERYTHING on hold and shut the world out. I could not put it down. I cannot get into details because there are so many and frankly it would spoil the entire book. I can say that there are so many unknowns and more questions, but we get answers.

I like puzzles in my stories. I like trying to figure out where the author is going in the book and I did not see the many things that happened in this book. The danger and fear were very real for me as I flipped each page. It was palpable.

YOU MUST READ “This is War, baby” before you read this book. I am still reeling after these two books. I will leave you with this. I shared this post minutes after finishing and it portrayed exactly how I felt.

Four. Four hours it took me to read this book. Three. Three people were dealing with my crazy ass messages about it. Two. Two very blurry eyes from nonstop reading that as I type this I am blinking erratically to clear them and actually see what I am typing. ONE. ONE VERY AMAZING AUTHOR WHO HAD BROUGHT ME TO MY KNEES WITH THIS IS LOVE, BABY. Author K Webster it is very likely that you will be the death of me, but I will gladly go out with an ending like that ANY DAY.

MUST READ FOR 2016! Remember this is a very dark romance, and not for the faint of heart. Don't think you are getting hearts and flowers. There is pain, anger, rage, violence (oh the violence), and above all else there is romance and fight left in these characters. I am forever changed after reading these books. ...more
