This book is not what I expected…what did I expect?

Well, I had recently read Ms. Torre's Innocence Series...so I was expecting sex, lots of sex.

What did I get instead?

Lots of suspense and moments like this…

Well, well, that was quite unexpected! Yes, yes, I read the blurb, but still...

Before I go any further, just fyi, there's a review on amazon that has a kinda' spoiler so stay away. Second, as it turns out, there is a new edition coming out in Jan 2015 that's a 100 pages longer and slightly diff ending (?).

Now, on to the story. This is an interesting psychological thriller, I think, is the best way to put this. I personally dig this genre. Yes, there is an erotic touch to it which it needs ju 3.5★

Now, on to the story. This is an interesting psychological thriller, I think, is the best way to put this. I personally dig this genre. Yes, there is an erotic touch to it which it needs just by virtue of Deanna's job and IMHO probably took some away from it being a really awesome thriller.

The 1st 30-ish% was all about laying out the groundwork, which I thought was on the long-ish side but once it picks up, it picks up. There were scenes that were a bit hard to swallow or not an easy read. Interestingly enough, with all that building up, I still wished some characters (like Jeremy, Mike, or Uncle Michael) were given more focus as it would have had a bigger impact on the overall feel of things. And closer to the end, things wrapped up a bit too quickly, I felt. But there were things I really enjoyed like some of the unexpected feel I got, from some funny or witty interactions to some of Deanna's inner thoughts esp near the end in a confrontation scene to some of the twists, and I would say the story line as a whole.

This is a first for me, reading about a character who's a cybersex operator, and has the condition that she has. In a way, her occupation couldn't have been a better fit to her condition. It was also fascinating to be immersed in the world of sex camming. Then with her condition, it could've been beyond twisted, but fortunately, it didn't go there. If it did, then this would've been a horror thriller, I'm thinking.

One thing for sure, Alessandra, regardless of what she writes, somehow always finds a way to throw me off, whether it's the shock value or the direction things go, but always in a good way, of course.

WOW. I didn't know this would be so fucked up. I really didn't. I've read Torre before, I knew she could write sex, sex that had me humping trees, but she blew me away with her darkness. I hope she can reach into her dark side more often and give me more books like this.

The plot line is genius storytelling. The characters are psychologically complex and unique. The writing is magnificent. I so love reading anything written by Alessandra Torre!

The girl in 6E is deeply traumatized. Her life is very unusual to say the least. She has locked herself away in her apartment to prevent hurting anyone else. She has killed before.
