ABANDONED. Fiction/Social commentry about a city where death stops, creating all sorts of issues for health care professionals and funeral parlors. A "mafia" is created to smuggle people who are in comas across the border so they can die.

Jesus' crucifixion told as a story, detailed description of his suffering, Mary at the cross, etc. Realistic, beautifully written. Read around 1985.
