My post-modernism professor told us about a (presumably a post-modern work) book where the world suddenly has no more death. Example, you can jump off a bridge and get really mangled but not be dead. And something about a man with angel wings

A guess - Death with Interruptions by José Saramago? I don't know if there is an angel. Wikipedia has a plot summary (with spoilers) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_w...
Olivia, around what year did you hear about this book? This will help narrow down the search.
Do you recall the author's nationality?

Thank you so much, this might be the one. I heard about it this year. I also remember him saying that the author’s other books also occur in the natural world but with some kind of twist in reality, exploring the consequences
Here is the Google Books preview of Death with Interruptions by José Saramago (English translation from Portuguese) -- https://books.google.com/books?id=TP6...
