95766 Our first Read-A-Thon will take place roughly one week from now on July 27th-28th.

If you wish to participate, please be sure to sign up here on this thread and Kelli will add you to the list.

Be sure to be thinking about which books you'll want to read and - if you feel like it - post your list in the Buddy Read "Pitch Your Title" thead and see if others might like to read along with you!

I look forward to seeing how successful this will be and if you guys like it, we'll be sure to do it more frequently! =D

95766 So, we here at YAholics Anonymous have decided to hold intermittent Read-A-Thons!

If you are unfamiliar with Read-A-Thons, it's a pretty simple concept. A Read-A-Thon is a day, or even a weekend, that group members dedicate solely to reading and discussion of books. During that certain day, you'll want to clear your calendar, stay in your pajamas, make some tea or coffee and curl up with a good book(s). For a whole twenty-four hours!

Well, okay okay. You can take bathroom breaks and food runs. And if you're a real wimp, you can sleep for a few hours. =P

But in general, we'll have a lot of our group members online checking in and discussing books they'll be reading for that day or weekend. In addition, there will probably be plenty of Buddy Reads going on as well! It's a great way to stay motivated to read and get to know people in the group!

Be sure to check back every now and then and plan to participate in our group Read-A-Thons! =D

Is that just a day where we devote to reading and GR? I guess we could always organize a day in which to do it...

95766 Oh man, I have so many books calling me at once.

I'm currently reading Rush (Breathless, #1) by Maya Banks and Rachel's Garden (Pleasant Valley, #2) by Marta Perry . I know, the librarian at my library teased me about the two completely opposite genres. XD

After that, I'm planning to read The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa , The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky , and Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead . I'm not sure in which order, though...

95766 Well, like stayed in a tent rather than a lodge? We had supplies, so I guess not.

Have you ever done karaoke with an audience?

95766 Half-way deaf. A bit easier to treat...

Would you rather have a haunted house or a house full of spiders?

95766 Sure! I'll change it when I update the thread. :)

95766 So, all of you are probably familiar with this game. In this game, you'll be given two possible scenarios or options and you have to pick the one you'd prefer. Then you'd post your own "would you rather" question.

For Example

Person One: Would you rather have a pet snake or pet rat?
Person Two: Snake. Would you rather play in the rain or play in the snow?

And that's how it's done! Just be sure to keep the thread PG-13! Lol.

I'll go first: Would you rather take a ridiculously hard class or teach a ridiculously hard class?

95766 Hmm, all the ones I've read have been pretty good so far. But if I had to pick the worst, I'd say Wake by Amanda Hocking. Interesting concept - and some of the scenes were pretty gruesome and cool - but the dialogue was unbearable at times.

What is the worst trouble you've ever been in?
