95766 The Chronicles of Fire and Ice (The Legend of The Archangel #1) by L.L. Hunter

The Chronicles of Fire and Ice by L.L. Hunter

Summary: Is love stronger than race?

The world is changing as we know it, the human race is dwindling, but so are the angels. In order to preserve their bloodlines they have bred with humans, creating a new race called Nephilim. But there is one race that is more endangered than humans or Seraphim, Archangels.
As most people believe the Archangels have become extinct, rumours surface of a Legend; that a baby was born out of flame, the offspring of an archangel.

Dyston Blackbell is tasked to find and protect this child. He sends her strange dreams in hope that she will find him. When he discovers that she has enrolled at his family’s angel academy in Melbourne, he will do anything to protect Scarlett. But when he finds himself falling for her the Heavenly realm rejects him.

But 21-year-old Scarlett Porter realises that being half Archangel has some advantages. She has developed a unique trait, one that marks her as an Archangel. Will she keep it to herself or use it to fight back?

When an old enemy resurfaces, The Lucifites, Scarlett discovers that Dyston’s older brother Lakyn is at the helm of their sinister plans; to destroy the Nephilim race or use Scarlett for their own selfish purposes when they find out who she really is.

And when Lakyn discovers that Scarlett had only seduced him to rescue Dyston from his prison in the Realm of Light, it sends him on a journey of self-discovery and destruction. One that sees him venturing farther off course than his father would like. Will he choose a new life of love or his old life of darkness?

95766 Legacy of a Dreamer (Dreamer, #1) by Allie Jean Apparently this book has a hot angel warrior and great reviews. Hmm...

Legacy of a Dreamer by Allie Jean

Summary: Chantal Breelan is a ward of the state, living under the care of a woman who is cold and heartless. Her past is a mystery, and her future is even more uncertain. She can’t recall why she had been taken from her parents and so she’s left with nothing but an empty hole where her childhood should have been. When she awakens from her nightmares, she’s left with terrible, violent images, as well as a boy whose face is oddly familiar, yet can’t be placed.

Scared and alone, Chantal begins to confide in an imaginary friend – a shadow in the shape of a man who stands in the corner of her room. She is comforted when she believes he listens to her.

On her eighteenth birthday, Chantal is forced to leave her foster home. She moves to New York City, but the start of her new life doesn’t begin as smoothly as she’d hoped. In this environment, she faces a whole new set of challenges.

One night at a subway station, Chantal meets a young boy who runs away from her, and she’s compelled to follow him down into the tunnels. But this Rabbit Hole reveals a world where reality is a nightmare. Her dreams are clues to her future, and her life becomes twisted and dangerous when she learns that things that go bump in the night are not just in fairy tales and childhood stories.

95766 Hi, I'm Lauren and I'm 22 years old. I just graduated with a bachelors in physics, and I will start graduate school next year in medical physics. This is a little-known profession that involves making cancer treatment plans and monitoring the output of the treatment machines. So (hopefully) after four more years I'll be working alongside the nurses, techs, and oncologists at a radiation oncology clinic somewhere.

I love reading, but unfortunately I have little time during semesters. That's why I love summer break! I have so many books to read. Some of my favorite YA series are Harry Potter, Jennifer Scales, the Chrestomanci Series, Warrior Cats, Redwall, the Elemental Series, Eragon, Artemis Fowl, Narnia, and Percy Jackson.

I have recently gotten into the YA distopian genre, and I have so many of them lined up to read.

I also LOVE fantasy novels (no, I haven't ever played DND, but I have watched a few games, and it was amusing). A couple of my favorite more adultish series are Harry Dresden and the Kingkiller Chronicles.

I am excited to help mod this group, and I hope everyone here gains something from YAholics Anonymous! Even if what you gain is a more serious addiction :D

95766 What is up with all the crotch and booty close-ups on books? I pick the second one. I like the purple and the fireworks. Although it's odd how there's not a moon on either one of them.

On a similar note, how about The Silver Moon Elm?
