I know it's all about your comfort level, but while I have other books to read, I might postpone making the decision, lol.
Sylvs (NOVELty Reads) wrote: "Ahh I've heard negative things about the author too. I heard about a lot of people cancelling them but I don't know why specifically"The author has apparently been accused of being abusive towards their ex ( think this was in 2015). The last report I could find on it all was in 2019, so I'm not sure what has become of it. But my friend was a similarly abusive relationship, so I'm hesitant to start the book, kwim?

Zoe, there is a thread in this readathon section that gives you instructions for posting your finished books. :)
Sylvs (NOVELty Reads) wrote: "That's the one by Meredith Russo right? I think the transgender main character prompt will fit it :)."Yes, I've read some negative reviews not about the book but about the author, but I'm willing to give it a try anyway. I actually ended up starting The Midnight Lie today, and so far, it's pretty interesting.
As people start reading books for this challenge, I'd be interested in any suggestions that fit the prompts!
Since I just got it from the library, my first book will probably be Birthday. I haven't figured out which prompt it will fit, but I'll figure it out. :)
Woo hoo! I'm excited to read with you all! I'm not sure how many books I'll be able to read, but I do have 2 books lined up already. :)
Okay, yep, I read Red, White and Whole and loved it! I highly recommend it!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I may finish up my monthly challenge with Red, White, and Whole, which is a historical fiction in verse for Middle School/YA.
The Willow Wren was a unique perspective in the WWII historical fiction genre as it was from the POV of a young German boy whose father was one of the higher-ups in the Nazi party, but his mother and he and his siblings were anything but Nazis. It is based on the stories told by the author's father (he is the main character) and although he had to fill in plausible details and conversations, his father apparently told many stories and he supplemented with his grandmother's memoirs and stories told by his aunt and uncle, so that this really feels like a biography/memoir. This was an interesting read!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
