88432 My youngest child came home sick today. I think I'll get some unanticipated reading time in while we lay around together tonight/tomorrow.

I'll bet Uno is way more fun this year now that you know!

This is what I thought, but wasn't 100% sure. I usually have 2-3 books going at a time lately...this will help with planning.

Thanks for clarifying!

88432 I finished Reckless Girls. I'll add the date finished to the spreadsheet. It was...meh. Probably just overhyped. I was expecting to be blown away.

Note: the character names in this one are a little tricky. I've only included names that appear the most often (double-checked with google books). Most didn't use last names (I don't think)...I'm also trying to avoid spoilers. :)

88432 Can someone remind me...when the mini-challenges come out, are we usually able to count books started before the mini challenge begins if we finish it after? For example, if I started a long book tomorrow, but finished it on Feb. 20th, would it count?

Just curious.

So glad you liked it!

And Christina I wouldn't worry - I've got books on my Netgalley shelf from 2019, I think.. I'm a bad arc reader lol"

Same here. 😬

Later works as a reverse. I've read it and liked it!

88432 Uno makes me so indecisive. And it makes me read 4 books at once. And then it ends and I'll feel indecisive because it won't matter what color the book covers are. And I'll slow my reading wayyy down. :)

88432 🎉🎉 I'm going to be starting with Reckless Girls. Not sure I've put it on the spreadsheet, but I will.

Oh, I've been really curious about this one. Please share your thoughts when you're done!

Oh, I do see basset now! The one on the far right looks a lot like our beagle. They are very sweet looking dogs. ♥️

88432 P.S. I spent the day at the largest bookstore in the U.S. today. One afternoon really wasn't enough, but I was out of money. 😂

Here's what I usually use to decide cover colors (for myself). I look at a book and go with what my first impression would be if someone handed it to me and said "what color is this book?" Would I say blue? Or blue and gray and black? I think both of these covers would work for blue/red because to me, they seem mostly blue or red. I'll agree that the red is reddish pink, but I think it works... especially if it's listed on the UNO red shelf.

Happy to do it! I just didn't want to claim two color cards if others were still looking. I own them both, so let me know if anyone else has their heart set on red 7 or green 4.

88432 If we need it, I have this here to read:
The Readers' Room by Antoine Laurain

The main character's name is Violaine Lepage (so would work for #7). Or I can save it for another month. It's fairly short.

88432 Hi Alex-- I usually use GR from my phone. I wish the mobile site was a little more use friendly. I often have to do a quick update until I can get to my laptop, too.

88432 Tell me more about this planning spreadsheet...I don't mind using one. Would you want people to use it to list the books they are committing to reading or just the books they are thinking about?

I'm thinking about these...
If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won't) by Betty White
...it's very short, but should be ok as long as it's over 100 pages, right? I think it was around 130 when I checked.

Dishing the Dirt (Agatha Raisin, #26) by M.C. Beaton
Would probably work for one of the green cards and I can usually read this series pretty quickly.

And I just won a copy of this, which I thought might work for a yellow card, but I'm not sure. I'll probably read it soon either way.
Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins

Anyone else have anything planned?
