88432 Sofie, I haven't read the book but my husband and friends really liked it and dragged me to the movie... which I did not enjoy. I just wondered what all the fuss was about it seemed a pretty average storyline to me. But in reading enjoyment is in the eye of the beholder and to each their own.

88432 What a time for it to happen, Karen. The woes of the digital age. I'm a pretty laid back person... till I get a problem on my computer/internet and then I turn into the she-Bit** from Hell. It just pushes all my buttons probably because I'm only barely adequate on a computer by today's standards. And certainly don't understand enough to fix anything but the simplest problems. Anyways back to my trusty dead tree book, LOL.

Yep, watch the series too... only not as good as the books IMHO. I like Sam H who plays Jamie but I'm not so keen on the actress who plays Claire.

88432 Yes, that's part of the series.

Definitely read every Outlander plus the Lord John books. I actually liked the first four books in the series the best, since they have got bigger with all the historical detail sometimes it detracts from the actual storyline. But that just me I guess.

I have read Victoria Holt but many years ago and in the last five years I read her Daughters of England series under the name Philippa Carr - following a series of ladies from the one family through English history. A bit old fashioned now though.

Love reading through all the stories from kindred spirits.

Karen, I feel your pain. Nothing puts me in a bad mood quicker than computer problems... or issues with Telstra.

Just a quick question, does our shelf update to the spreadsheet automatically or does it have to be done manually due to all the categories? I will just post here and anyone is welcome to post my numbers to where fits best. ☺

88432 Rosina, I also read heaps of Enid Blyton and Jean Plaidy when younger, in fact I think the world that EB created in her Enchanted Wood series really kick started my imagination and I still love reading historical fiction thanks to Jean Plaidy.

88432 Lisa - Aussie Girl from Team Muppets. Hello fellow book lovers!

I've been reading since forever and some of my fondest memories are my late mother taking me and my younger sister to the library when I was about 6. My funniest memory is from Year 9 in school, eons ago. I had discovered Troubadour "Bodice Rippers" so when our English Teacher said we could bring a book in for "quiet" reading time I saw an opportunity. Behind the covers of some dusty tome was Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss, a giant in romance reading at that time and quiet racy by those days standards. I'll never forget an enraged English teacher snatching the book from my mortified hands , declaring it nothing but "soft porn" and being marched to the Principal's office for a lecture on what constitutes English Literature. I often wonder what she would think of the content of today's romance novels.

So although I still love romance I read everything and anything. Enjoy the challenge everyone.
