Reading through the memories thread I can't believe how many of us have similar pasts and which books were the ones that set us all on the path to be book addicts.

I've got a "sacred" cupboard in our spare room filled with a lot of my childhood books including a complete set of Trixie Beldons. When we were renovating and my husband dared to suggest I cull my books - this is was instigated the inclusion of the sacred cupboard - interfere at your own peril!

Now that I'm older, I don't re-read books very often. There are just too many books out there. But 4 years ago my mom told me to read Written in Red. And every year since then, in March, I have re-read all the books as the new one comes out. They are my new favorite series!

Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop - I love this series too and am currently reading the latest .. Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop

88432 Hello from Team Muppets.

Lonely Planet Pocket Istanbul (Travel Guide) by Virginia Maxwell

It is a non-fiction book and also linked to a Harry Potter memory - The Grand Bazaar reminds me of a Turkish Diagon Alley and some of the palace interiors look like the inside of Hogwarts aka Alnwick Castle.

Could this work for a Wizard of Oz Memory - it is a non -fiction book? Or how about a link to Harry Potter - the Grand Bazaar reminds me of a Turkish Diagon Alley? And a few of the palaces resemble the rooms of Hogwarts aka Alnwick Castle.

88432 The characters in the new series were in the last book of the Mortal Instruments as children. I'm thinking the incidents in that (view spoiler) will directly impact the new series and they are now 16-18 years old.

I always think it is better to have read the previous series as it gives a lot more depth and understanding of the story. But that's just me... lots of people can jump all over the place and not read in order and the sky doesn't fall in. (Grin)

Team Peanuts Memory Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase

My mom is fond of romance novels and at age 14-15 I was so curious about the books she read, but wouldn't let me read. So finally one day I got my hands on one of those books and started reading in secret...I've been in love with romance books ever since! (needless to say my mom was a bit frustrated when she caught me reading her books, but she realized it was hopeless to keep me away:P)

Classic historical romance. ♥
