is "Gentlemen wear tuxedos" too tenuous? (or we could say, it's a black cover, like tuxes)
If it is too much of a stretch, Red Queen is an excellent part 2 element :)

in other news: I finished the orange cover

if so we could link that to the Stiletto
otherwise I suspect that a cocktail name with Dragon will be in the offing! :)

It had lion and tail in the text (not together, though there was a sphinx that was what prompted the use of both those words). Work for the cocktail?

will add to SS
is surname - de Vries considered to begin with D or V - there is a gap between the words in the text"
the official answer is "however it would be shelved in the library"
my answer is: we won't be using author last name for this one as it's too confusing! H is good - we need 3s :)

Daryl van Horne's Bloody Mary
with a white cover
President Snow's White Negroni
with white writing on the cover - Vian / The Vampire Lestat
that relates to the cocktail
✔️Mayday's Tuxedo

Agent Smith' Margerita

✔️Scar's Lion Tail
that relates to the cocktail - Cat / CryoBurn (both lion and tail in text)
✔️Annie Wilkes' Hanky Panky
that relates to the cocktail - Frida / The Fire & the Ore (polygamous shenanigans)
Pennywise's Fluffy Critter
with a red cover
that relates to the cocktail - Sarah / What You Are Looking For (cat on cover)
✔️Hannibal Lecter's Red Wine Spritzer
that relates to the cocktail
✔️Mean Girls' Stiletto

✔️Prince Septimus' Last Word
that relates to the cocktail - Marie / Fourth Wing (Last & Fourth are both ranking words)
✔️Jack Sparrow's Sea Breeze
that relates to the cocktail - Sarah / The Night Ship (ship on cover)
Wicked Witch of the West's Brass Monkey
with a green cover - Vian / The Queen of the Damned
✔️Voldemort's Snakebite
that relates to the cocktail - Cynthia / ? (pet snake)
✔️Phantom of the Opera's Love Potion

✔️Patrick Bateman's Death in the Afternoon
that relates to the cocktail - Danielle / Only Bad Options (many people die)

I'll be starting

for sure! shall pencil you in there :)

I'd thought that we'd try to fill in the "match the cocktail" first part to start with, and only move to the second section after the first lot is done / claimed. (mainly because it means we only have to have one creative thinking hat on at a time, reducing options and decision-paralysis)
Thoughts on that as a strategy?

This is pretty creative task, beyond the cover colour / text colour tasks, so do shout out with connections to the cocktails as you read your books!
Full details here
The colour tasks are:
- Read a book with a white cover.
- Read a book with white writing on the cover.
- Read a book with a yellow cover.
- Read a book with yellow writing on the cover.
- Read a book with an orange cover.
- Read a book with orange writing on the cover.
- Read a book with a red cover.
- Read a book with red writing on the cover.
- Read a book with a pink cover.
- Read a book with pink writing on the cover.
- Read a book with a turquoise cover.
- Read a book with a green cover.
Then we need a book that relates somehow (creativity encouraged!) to the cocktail names (or owner)
- Daryl van Horne's Bloody Mary
- President Snow's White Negroni
- Mayday's Tuxedo
- Agent Smith' Margerita
- Scar's Lion Tail
- Annie Wilkes' Hanky Panky
- Pennywise's Fluffy Critter
- Hannibal Lecter's Red Wine Spritzer
- Mean Girls' Stiletto
- Prince Septimus' Last Word
- Jack Sparrow's Sea Breeze
- Wicked Witch of the West's Brass Monkey
Then we get to create cocktail names using items from our books.
The mini tab is up on our planning sheet, which will hopefully help :)
So, call out with suggestions for your books - finished on 15 Marc, after the countdown (check out the tracker sheet) ends :D

We only need a black cover and one black text on cover, both of which are in progress. (Sarah, Frida)
So, if you aren't reading specifically for those tasks, feel free to slow down to hold your books over till March now. Or use this time to start sixteen different books ready for March! Or to read books that won't fit this challenge! :)
