Did you read the edition with the green cover? If so, could you change it on your shelf please?"

I read a green skip last week that I switched in. The color of your book, Donna, is in the teal/turquoise family, and when unclear, it is generally easier to use as a normal skip.

88432 Hi all,

The February mini challenge starts tomorrow at 9 AM UK/London time. Countdown: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

I've put the details in Message 10 and that includes a link to the official post about the mini challenge.

In summary, we need 40 books from 8 categories:
- Have a direction in the title (e.g. up, down, east, west etc.)
- Have an author's first name or surname starting with F, I, N or D
- Have a black (>50%) cover
- Have black writing on the cover (and no other text with a different colour)
- Spirits (e.g., vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, tequila)
- Mixers (e.g., soda water, tonic water, fruit juices)
- Fruit (e.g., lemon, lime, cherries)
- Herbs and Spices (e.g., mint leaves, basil, cinnamon sticks)

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on Feb 14, 9am UTC and before March 1 at 9am UTC (when the March UNO month begins).

I added my book to the planning sheet as an example. Please put all options, as we may have to move books around to cover all 40 tasks.

Yes, hyphenated last names go by the first part of the name so D in your example.

88432 I knew the Super Bowl was happening but watched none of it. I started a new book and am working through my smaller book that I have taken to reading a chapter before bed. It is not big on plot but has food descriptions, so it is good to read without feeling like I need to stay up and read more.

88432 Jill could you add a read date to Courier? It is on your UNO shelf but no read date.

88432 Safe travels and happy weekend, everyone as well.

I just finished my first book and it was horrible. Hope the next one is better.
Feb 01, 2024 05:55PM

88432 Yes, please write any options that fit for each book, and Ashleigh and I will place them in the hands on the official spread sheet.

88432 Is everyone ready? Start time for books is 9 AM in London so 4 AM EST

88432 We have a Blue Skip, but we can use it for a Wild Draw 4 as we have to duplicate three of the color cards. Please add it to the spreadsheet when you have time.
Jan 28, 2024 04:05PM

88432 Claim as many as you want and please put all your books on the sheet - either before or after you read them. Also, with a smaller team, and this many color cards, feel free to claim up to three each if you think you will read them.

88432 I've got two books to finish and am otherwise ready to start. Only a few days to go. Everyone excited and ready to start?

Anyone can add a book to those links so it is always good to check. We need lots of non colored cards as well. Hope you enjoy it.

How are you trying to open it? Do you have it in a browser window or through an app? I've added your books as well from Message 43. I put the one down for a Green 6 as that is harder than a Green 0 and it would also work for a Green Skip.

88432 Lauri, great job and not a pain at all.

Someone managed to delete the column for book title, so I had to revert to an older version. I added your books back in as well, but that is where the title goes. Otherwise, you did it correctly. I have a list at the top of the spreadsheet with all the colored cards, and I added your name for the Yellow 8 and Red 6. Thank you

88432 Jill wrote: "I tineyed this one and it's almost 70% green"

Since Jill has mentioned Tineye, for everyone, know that you do not have to use Tineye, and there are times that it is bad at labeling colors. It can label yellow as pink and other odd things. However, it is very good at percents if you do the color labeling. The key point is you have to un-click the "Exclude background color from extracted colors" box or it will give you entirely wrong results. For instance, the book above, will ignore the dark background unless you un-click the box and give entirely wrong percents.

Lauri, how are you trying to access the spreadsheet? Are you using your computer or an app on your phone? I can help walk you through how to work with the spreadsheet, as that will help throughout with not having to write out every possibility for your books in the thread.
