We're almost done with the 5's, just one more to go. But we need more 7's and reverse. As for the color cards, we don't have a Blue 4 logged, in case someone wants to look for it.
How's everybody doing? How many amazing books read so far?
Next week we'll have the mini challenge to spice things up. Hope you're ready 😉.

I just updated our spreadsheet, 5 days in and looks good. I picked Green 3 and Blue 2 for two of the WD4, so the ones reading those color books the color card is waiting for you. We have Red 0 also duplicated so that's the next WD4. Once we've gone further I'll start pointing which ones are getting behind, but for now, it's an open and fertile field.
Hope you're having a nice weekend!

I'm ready and excited to start, this game always keeps me motivated. Hope you have fun too!
Any questions you may have, we're here to help.

We're almost there, here's the countdown:

About your questions.
- You have to start your books on Feb 1st to count for UNO.
- You only have to fill in the February log tab, the February cards tab will be filled by Mary and me.
- All books finished have to be in your UNO shelf to be counted and verified. You can have your to-read books in there, but try not to have too many, it's easier for us captains to work with a neat shelf.

Oh yes, you are right. I'm doing two 2023 reading challenges and I got confused. They always have prompts like that. That's a problem I have when playing UNO since I tend to read more non-fiction, but the upside is that it makes me read a lot more novels.

I don't know what it means to use or not characters in non-fiction. I also do challenges and when I've found this prompt I usually go for memoirs, just like the one you mentioned. I would recommend "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou and "In the Dream House" by Carmen Maria Machado. For non memoirs (and maybe that's what you mean with not characters?) "All About Love: New Visions" by bell hooks is one I have my eye on to read this year.

I have a few reads ready to start the challenge. Making sure they're not that long and that I've been really looking forward to read.
Also I have a bad case of sciatica, so I'm having trouble finding a comfortable position to read, the worst!

I was also planning to read

I do have TrueBiz in my TBR, I might give it a go.

February 1st is the day books start to count.
For the next two months, March and April, books can be started the prior month.

That's right, the Feb cards tab will be managed by Mary and me. Just fill in the log.

Yes, we have 4 Wild Draw, so they'll be put to good use anyway.

No problem claiming it, but I don't think it's blue enough 🤔. Let me ask the other captains if it goes. One tool we can use is Tineye
https://labs.tineye.com/color/
It's not 100% reliable, but it gives you a hint. It has to be at least 50% the color.

I've found that one fine strategy is to tackle first the color, reverse and 5(I), 7(V) and 9(N) cards, and planners can be on it, while mood readers finish off the others as they go. And for the ones that are a little bit of both, hunt when you want, or read what you want and we'll find it a place. So, a laidback approach.
What do you think?
I'll try to post at least once on weekends with an update to see how we are doing and if something needs our attention.

Sorry I responded you with a brain fart, hahaha, I was tired. Let me try again.
