And the beat goes on... a good friend of mine from CSU just notified us that her daughter.... 15 years old, a sophomore in a Montessori school making straight A's... has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, the second most common form of bone cancer. She is a wonderful person and a brilliant girl (mentality AND personality) and now faces surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Please send thought their way as well.

As an update... my niece was released from the hospital and her son might be released today. They are still facing a long, hard road... she may be facing charges in the other woman's death as the accident was indeed my niece's fault. She does not know what happened... one moment she was fine and the next all she saw was headlights and then the crash.

Sounds interesting... gonna have to check it out

First the update... surgery went fantastically No problems, no complications, next day and no pain or swelling. YAY. Now the urgent part...Whatever your religious beliefs, please send prayers/thoughts/energies. I was informed a short time ago that my niece Stephanie Delaschmitt was involved in a horrific accident last night. The driver of the other vehicle was killed instantly, and her family needs prayers of healing as well. My niece, her son and her friend are all in intensive care with multiple injuries, her daughter was treated and released. Thank you all.

Sadly it appears Amazon does not have the Three Investigators books. I LOVED those books when I was a young teen. One of the three heroes was a chubby boy... who was also brilliant and the leader of the group. I want to track them all down and get them.

HMMMM> I just found out that Amazon has a romance series about voluptuous women... Plus Size Loving. Looks interesting. As well as Loving Large and Plump & Passionate.

WHOOOOT! 99 cents each for the Kindle!

I got a call from Kelley last night, to tell me bad news. It appears that one of their dogs decided to make a commentary on the up coming wedding on Saturda..."Oh Hon. HUGGIES and comfort to you.

That is AWESOME news Kim!

Bummed big time. My Uncle Traynor passed this morning at 6:30. He was the last living sibling of my mother's. The funeral is in Tennessee and I won't be able to go. Please send thoughts my way.

I am SOOOOOOO happy for you! YAY! {does the happy dance}

Great big HUGE huggies to you dearheart!

I completely agree, Kim. There is no need to be destructive or idiotic to have fun. Flash mobs can be very cool, like the Barbara number on Glee. Yes I am a Gleek lol. But again, why do people have to destroy a wonderful idea with their senseless need for vileness?

Congrats on the 50 lengths, and good luck on the baking contest. Sorry we haven't been more communicative, been busy at the house. We watched the neighbor's dog and got INFESTED with fleas. Yuck, but HUGS to you!

Historical fiction? Alternate history? Suggestions please."OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I really LIKE the thought of an alternate history read!

SOOOOO glad to hear you are up and around!
Follow My LeaderI do not remember when I first found this book, but it was from a rummage sale that I went to with my Mom. It became a fond favorite.
It is the story of a boy named Jimmy that was out playing ball with some friends. One of the boys found an un-exploded firecracker and thought it would be great fun to light it. However, the fuse burned faster than expected. When Jimmy yelled for the boy to throw it, he inadvertently threw it towards Jimmy. It exploded in Jimmy's face and totally blinded him.
The book tells the story of how Jimmy came to accept being blind, getting a guide dog, learning to work with the guide dog, and forgiving the boy that caused the accident.
It is a very touching and inspiring read, and very well done. It was written in an easy to understand way and I wish the author had done more books.

Seeing that the book was written shortly after her mother's death, it would seem to me that they would have denied it MUCH sooner if it truly had been lies. Often you see time erase real memories and replace them with fantasized memories after the passing of an abusive parent.
