Believe it or not, this is the first time ready this book. I'm not a YA fan or a fantasy fan, so I just shied away from the craze. I may have seen one of the movies way back when my boys were young... but it would have been in passing. Anyway, I did enjoy it. It was simpler to follow than a lot of fantasy I've read and not so much angst. It was enjoyable and the action was fun. I'll probably continue :-)

I've really enjoyed this series. I've found I really like steampunk - some of the ways that authors come up with modern conveniences in a historical setting is sometimes ingenious. In this series, references to actual historical events but within the context of the worldbuild makes the story more 'believable', I guess. As for this particular book in the series, the female lead work through her trust issues in a realistic way. She didn't just 'fall' for the male MC and suddenly everything was okay. She struggled to let him in and yearned to be able to do so at the same time. The author did a great job building tension between them - not just physical tension but emotional too. There is a spin-off series that I'm looking forward to.
Nomination: steampunk

I kept putting this off because it was more thriller/horror than suspense, I thought, so I was pleasntly surprised to find while there was a bit of gore, there was no creep factor to make it a horror. It was more techno thriller and told with a fairly light hand. I'm glad I read it - the premise was interesting. I'm not sure I agree with the underlying premise for the cloning to have happened, but it was still an interesting read.

I can read my steampunk books for this and a couple UF books on my TBR are tagged as well. Those seem too easy for me so I'm also going to look at the books mentioned in the thread to maybe stretch myself a little :-)
For sure I'll read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - that works for me for Prompt 1 in Just Read It since reading this series is out of my comfort zone (not a big fan of non-romance fantasy, sorry...)

Question about traveling to another board. I understand when traveling we're to go around the board until we land on or pass GO. When that happens, say my roll causes me to land one spot past GO... do I read for that spot then on my next roll return to Home and start from GO? Or if my roll takes me past GO, do I immediately return home and start at GO and roll again?
