Vollmann is the author of Europe Central, Rising Up and Rising Down, and, most recently, The Book of Dolores, a self-portrait of the author’s female alter ego. ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Assigned seating is available in the Billy Wilder Theater. Free tickets are required and available at the Box Office, one ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Members enjoy priority seating and seat selection, subject to availability. Membership does not guarantee seating. Arrival at least one half hour prior to program time is recommended.

Parking is available under the museum for a flat fee of $3 after 6:00PM.

Also, readers of Argall might avail themselves of Sweet John Smith's bible :: the very Niccolò Machiavelli's The Prince ;; a text which is already required reading for all students of political philosophy and those interested in questions of power (alas myself having not yet so avail'd). Machiavel haunts Argall more thoroughly even than Argall himself (his name forever be held distant from all good christians.)

"The introduction is a bit dense and heavy on convoluted and arcane philosophizing, being a sort of mission statement to the rest of the work, but once Vollman gets down to the business of telling the story, the prose gets easier and the story goes on apace." [I thought the intro gold ; and a bit of a come down when the story started up]

You know me and my hard=ass scheduling I demand in the groups I moderate.... So, yeah, no but, whenever.... Arbitrary dates, though, are important for every organizing drive.

Technical glitch ;; some profile pics receive a Like button and some don't. Anyone want to help explain to me and others how to go about assuring oneself that one's profile pic has a Like button lying nearby so we can spread Bill-pics around the site like a virus?

Inspired by Vollmanniac Stephen M, next week has been arbitrarily designated WTV Profile Pic Week. Either Sunday night or Monday morning (Oct 20, 21) change your pic to your favorite photo of Bill ; or an image from his literary or visual arts. Perhaps an image from Imperial.

For those innocent-minded, child-like protestors, a small bit of duct tape over his mouth would be appropriate.

I haven't seen any official announcement about this one yet. But it would seem to be the fictional counterpart to The Book of Dolores.
