Welcome Cynthia, thank you for joining us.
I've added your book to the group's Bookshelf. Feel free to discuss your series, hero, inspiration or even writing techniques by creating a new post in the Authors Folder.
Also, feel free to participate to our Group Reads, focused on Charles' Saunders "Imaro" series and genre-related titles with a small number of reviews.

Loved Black Death. Had all the right ingredients for a historical/ S&S film. No wonder the lead actors were cast in Game of Thrones. Probably the only film I'd watch back-to-back with The 13th Warrior.
Regarding historical accuracy in the sword stances, the other movie mentioned by the local ARMA branch (here's the interview, in Greek, but accessible with an on-line translator) was Kingdom of Heaven.

80482 I picked up a british copy of Reave the Just And Other Tales upon your recomendation S.E. Haven't started this yet. Since I'm not attracted to long series I won't be trying any "Thomas Covenant" books, although The Atlas Of The Land is a great map-book of the first three books...

Welcome Thomas, thank you for joining us. Feel free to introduce your work, either in the authors folder or the photos section for your artwork.
Also, feel free to join the September-October Groupread. The "Review Starved Books" topic would be a good place to spread your enthusiasm about J.W. Kent's work.

Keep your tantō sheathed T.C., I'm sure there is an upcoming review of Gonji: Red Blade from the East brewing out there ;-)

80482 Although September is going to be a super-busy month, I will try to join you with Imaro: The Trail of Bohu. That's one of my favorite grourreads so far BTW, thank you Seth and everyone who suggested a focus on Sword & Soul.

Nice find Phil. It reminded me very much of Howard's James Allison stories. Also, the scene where ""a stream of stories flowed off my pen or rather, off my typewriter almost without effort on my part" was beautifully recreated on the film, The Whole Wide World.

Looks great. Another indie/retro-inspired S&S game I'd recommend is Sword & Sorcery.

80482 A good selection!

Thanks for suggesting Marmell's book. Which reminds me of the Thief games (there is a new title to be released with the NextGen consoles btw), the "ancestor" of Dishonored.

Hello Michael and welcome! thank you for joining us with such an enthusiasm. You could introduce us to your work in the Promotions thread or by creating a new thread in the Authors Folder. Please vote on the Sept-Oct Group Read Poll here, if you like.

Since it would be nice to keep this thread focused on introductions, here is the Sword & Planet Thread where there is copy of your discussion, since there is no way of moving comments from different folders.
Feel free to discuss anything related to Sword & Sorcery (and subgenres) in the appropriate thread and if there isn't one, feel free to create a new one in the appropriate folder. Thanks to all participants, of the above discusssion, for their understanding.

Yes, and quite liked it. According to the local Arma branch, the sword stances are as close to authentic as a movie swordfight can be.
There is also a sequel, Ironclad: Battle for Blood, to be released later this year. [Trailer]

80482 I kind-of, started gaming again because of Skyrim and was fortunate to purchase the Special Edition. I prefer story and immersion more than combat & challenge, which is what the Elder Scrolls series does best. I've only played Daggerfall and Oblivion briefly though...

Charles, as I'm currently playing the more horror-oriented expansion of Skyrim, "Dawnguard", I couldn't help reading your recently published short story, "A Whisper in Ashes", partly as an homage to Skyrim:

"Tell your Jarl I have come from the black tarn beyond the pass and would speak to him of a strange thing. If he will not see me, I will be on my way tomorrow.”
“Granted,” the man called down, though he seemed reluctant. “Fresh coin is always welcome. But draw no weapon while in our city.”"
