Set around the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl, this is a gripping read. Telling of self sacrifice, love and the sheer desire to help others when all is lost.

I never made it to my chosen book for October but am already nearly finished my book for November :)

I can't say that I even knew there was a film but book 1 looks interesting. I may have to add it

I read All That Is Solid Melts into Air. I've already reserved it at my library

The TV series or have ever watched the film?

I probably watched both long before I read the book and I never seem to get bored with any of it. I've watched the complete TV series several times, I have them on DVD. I also have the film which though funny is very different from the TV show, it also follows the book quite closely.

I've added your book choice to the bookshelf but it seems you can only view the shelf on a PC/laptop.

I'm also a bit miffed that the bookshelf doesn't appear on the app either

....and now it shows! Anyone else had this problem?

I was checking into the group by my Goodreads app on my tablet and for some reason, the section isn't showing!

I would think it could be either really. For instance I'm currently watching Steve McQueen in Bullitt but it's based on a book called Mute Witness by someone dubiously named Robert L. Fish. I've not read the book but it's yet another I'll be adding to my towering TBR
