Cherie, I'd like to buy 2 Gs, 1 A and 1 N.I read,
For G: River of Smoke by Amitav Ghosh. (10/21) (Last 300 pages count).
For G: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. (10/21)
For A: The Age of Desire by Jennie Fields. (10/26)
For N: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. (10/26).
That's it from me this week...
Cherie, I've drawn a G this week. I have a book - Amitav Ghosh's River of Smoke - I've got about 300 more pages to go. It's a 500+ page book. Can I use it to claim G?
Cherie wrote: "Chaitra, what did you think of The Casual Vacancy? I have it but haven't read it yet."Cherie, I've been out since I've read it, so I haven't reviewed it yet, but the short version is that I HATED it. 1 star for me. I felt bad about giving it that rating, because there's not one page in that book that doesn't have one type of misery or the other, but it all felt so excessive. There are so many characters, but they're all so hateful. I kept hoping for all of them to drown in a river, I don't think I hoped for Voldemort's death so much. It's not well written either. I was supposed to have read at least two more books this week, but I didn't even start them because this book was so hard to read.
I finished my last 2. Cherie I'd like to buy O, R and a bonus L for a 500 page book.I read On What Grounds by Cleo Coyle
and The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. The Rowling book is just over 500 pages.
Cherie, I'd like to buy an N and a T.I read Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman. (10/17) and
Time and Tide in Acadia: Seasons on Mount Desert Island by Christopher Camuto. (10/18).
I'll do this too! Backdating to Oct 1.READ THE GROUP
