73710 I've taken this book down from almost all the places it was available now, but I don't have time to get the rewrite done in the next few months.

I wish there was some way I could ditch my day job and write full time.

There's been almost no activity at all. :( Message me your e-mail address (don't post it in this forum) and let me know what format you'd prefer the book in and I will happily send you a copy in return for an unbiased review.

73710 The first Astronomicon novel "The Beginnning" is now permanently free on Smashwords:

It makes a great introduction to the rest of the series (and spin-off novels) and now you've got no excuse not to try it. Amazon should be price-matching it soon, but I'll make another announcement when they do that.

Book 2 "Distant Relatives" will be appearing on Smashwords too soon, but not for free.

73710 I've almost completed the conversion of the book ready for release on Smashwords. Hopefully it will only be another few days before it becomes available there.

73710 Wow - no-one interested in doing a review?
Dec 13, 2014 04:52AM

73710 This one is almost ready for its big relaunch. As part of that I'm really keen to get some more reviews on Amazon and here on Goodreads. I've got incredibly few reviews for Those Left Behind so far, which is annoying as it's outright the best thing I've written!

If any of you are interested in getting a free e-book copy in return to writing an honest review, please let me know. I'd be happy to let 40-50(ish) copies go out free to get my review count up.

73710 The Beginning and Icarus have both been revamped, and Those Left Behind is in progress. I guess it stands to reason that Distant Relatives has to get the same treatment too!

So much work to do, and I'm meant to be writing the next book ("Deadline") too.

73710 This novel is currently undergoing a heavy re-edit. It should be finished soon, but while I'm waiting I wonder if I should be looking into revamping the front cover art too?
Nov 25, 2014 10:45AM

73710 The big relaunch of Icarus (re-edited and with an improved front cover) is close now. I'm wondering about doing a 99c offer again to celebrate the new version?
Jan 21, 2014 03:25AM

73710 Just reminding everyone that Icarus is still available to download for just 99c (77p). I'm not sure how much longer I will keep this offer going. I should really have ended it last year but its been so popular I think it's worth extending it a little longer.
Jan 01, 2014 04:12AM

73710 No more extensions of the special offer on Astronomicon: The Beginning. It comes to an end on Saturday 4th January (2014!). After that the price will return from 99c to $3.99.

I know hundreds of you have taken advantage of the low price offer, but if you're one of the ones who haven't then don't miss out:

73710 A week later and no-one has read this thread. :(
Dec 05, 2013 01:03AM

73710 I'm strongly considering leaving GoodReads. No-one seems to read my posts here. I get hundreds of people reading my Facebook and Google+ posts, thousands on Twitter, and even more on my Astronomicon.co.uk blog. Here on GR however, I'm lucky if ANYONE reads my posts.

I realise that I'm effectively posting this message to myself, but I felt bad about leaving without saying goodbye!

73710 I'm intrigued as to why this book is selling much better than Astronomicon book 2 (Distant Relatives). Being the third in the series I would expect book 2 to sell about 60% as well as the first book, and then the third book to do slightly less well than book 2. For the past four months, book 3 has outsold book 2 almost 2:1. It's selling almost as well as the first book (which is still on a special offer price).

73710 Sadly I've decided to put this book on hold for now. I'm leaving the whole sci-fi genre for my next project and stepping into a completely new area.

I will return to science fiction, but I suspect not before summertime next year.

73710 Making good progress now. Almost a third of the way through the first draft, with three levels of humour woven into the story, but I'm having difficulty with the pacing. Some chapters have quite a few humorous events and developments, but other have none. It would be nice if there was something lightly funny in every chapter. Otherwise I fear the book will seem to suffer from not knowing what it is.

I suspect this one is going to take more polishing than anything I've written before.
Aug 25, 2013 02:28PM

73710 The low price offer finishes in just a couple of hours (as soon as Amazon update the price). In just a short while it will stop being 99c and return to $3.99.
Aug 09, 2013 06:20AM

73710 I've decided to keep the special offer price for The Beginning as sales are going so well. I'm effectively making no money on this, but as most people who purchase the first volume go on to buy the 2nd and 3rd, it's turned out to be a really worthwhile offer.

73710 Loads of people have bought this book, but so far no reviews here on GoodReads. However it has gained a review on Amazon, and a good one too!

73710 It's weird how the act of planning one book usually conjures up lots of ideas for my other future books, or even ideas for entirely new books. I have to get these ideas typed up for future reference even it really slows down progress on the one I'm supposed to be focussing on.
